Palmistry: The Self-Awareness System for the
Age of Aquarius
By Vernon Mahabal
Palmistry,
or hand analysis is a powerful metaphysical
tool. This ancient science combines a
tangible grid of verifiable psychic energy
with the accuracy of astrology. As the
age of Aquarius progresses the art of palmistry
is making a resurgence and is on the path
towards regaining its rightful place in
as a dignified and esteemed science once
again. The ancient and respected Vedic
literature spoke highly of both palmistry
and astrology. It declared them the sciences
of the “learned and self-controlled”
(Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 10, part 3) The
Vedas also predicted a coming
“Golden Age” coinciding exactly
with ancient Mayan future forecasts. Although
astrology and palmistry are related, a hand
readers approach is much different. The
hand is seen as a living tool through which
the eternal soul, encased within the material
body, speaks its message. Therefore to read
a hand is to gain a complete understanding
of a person’s emotional, creative,
spiritual, health and career direction.
Unlike astrology, a palmist does not need
to know a birth time. The hand itself speaks
visibly and concretely like a road map.
The lines are created by both brainwaves
and planetary influences. Classical palmists
thought that the lines contain a planetary
energy flowing within them that they named “The
astral fluid”. Even today we understand
that the brain acts as chemical/electrical
computer. The age of Uranian technology
is now upon us, and it is symbolic that
hand is again being studied seriously
as the computer printout of the individual
souls journey on Earth. Just under the
lines on the hand exist imprints called
“dermatoglyphics”. These skin-ridge
patterns are scattered throughout the entire
palmer surface. These include the fingerprints
formed in the womb between twelve and fourteen
weeks of age. We are all familiar with law
enforcement 's extensive use of the fingerprints
for identification purposes, while being
unaware of the wealth of physiological and
life path information that they carry. A
seasoned palmist learns more about a client
from these ‘derma’ patterns
than even from the well-known lines. As we
enter the age of Aquarius, we find tremendous
consciousness changes and an awakening of
interest in psychic development. The hand
can be an incredible psychic tool. It expresses
in great detail exactly which type of intuition
or psychic ability the bearer possesses.
The hands also radiate powerful and verifiable
auras, and are sensitive receivers of psychic
energy fields. It is commonly understood
by many that use the hand in healing and
psychic work that the entire nervous system
is represented on the hand in miniature.
Many people can “feel” colors
with their hands. Others can understand quite
a lot about a person by touching and handling
their personal possessions. If one were
to examine the hands of a healer or body
worker after they have helped someone,
one would find the Communication Chakra
(located directly underneath the little
finger) on the hand glowing a reddish color
during and after healers work.
The
hand is filled with psychic energy. When
two people sit together for a reading,
the palmist comes into contact with a tremendous
amount of metaphysical forces radiating
from the clients palms. Having noticed
this, it is possible to try a complete
and thorough reading from a purely analytical
approach. However, over time, even the
most ‘scientific’
palmist will feel their intuitive skills
grow. Many hand readers are psychically
inclined, so whatever they receive
will naturally come from the hands.
A seasoned palmist, after receiving much
intuitive information will verify it by looking
at the planetary aspects depicted on the
hands in order to give the most reliable
and accurate reading. The palm, in all its
astrological data combined with intuition
will ’speak’ to
the hand analyst. The science then becomes
an Art. If one studies the hand by insight
and observation (two very important Uranian
keywords) the destiny and free will of the
individual soul can be understood with incredible
accuracy. Hand analysis becomes a complete
system of understanding human potential.
Many believe that the palm is unsurpassed
as a tool for revealing the exact career
or vocation for which one is perfectly suited.
Even in the medical field, research has proven
that health trends are clearly seen on the
palms. Palmistry has been making
a giant comeback due to efforts serious practitioners,
and a more discriminating public. For years,
cheaters and charlatans have done a great
disservice to palmistry, but the tide is
now turning as the age of Aquarius progresses,
the science of palmistry is seeing a resurgence
and its previous dignity restored. It will
again be accepted as an esteemed and respected
art--a study worthy of the best efforts of
the best minds.
INTRODUCTION TO PALMISTRY
Everything that can be known about a human being is written
on one's hands. To a professional palmist, the hand is a physical, tangible
astrological roadmap, and reads just like a journal's of one's life. When
people think of palmistry, they generally think that the lines on the
palm constitute the entire study. The science of hand analysis encompasses
much more than looking at the palmer lines, although they are an important
part of the analysis. A wealth of information is also gathered from other
parts of the hand, and we will briefly look at some of them.
Compare
the length of your index and ring fingers.
The index finger symbolizes the desire
for power and independence, and the
ring finger deals with interests of creativity
and public impact. If your index finger
is slightly longer than your ring finger,
you are a person who desires influence
in the world, and would be most happy
in a position of authority. If your index
finger is much longer than your ring
finger, your desire for power would influence
you to get your way in most situations.
If your ring finger is longer than your
index, then self-expression in all forms
is more important to you than being in
charge. Your desire would be to have a
career that gives you a creative purpose
or inner fulfillment, more than being in
a position of power. This does not mean
that you won't be successful at what
you do, but it does indicate that it is
more important for you to express your
individuality and creative expression in
the world. If your ring finger is much
longer than your index finger then you
have a great desire for public or social
recognition, generally in the world of
the arts. Notice if there are spaces between
your fingers when your hands are placed
down on a table. Spaces between fingers
signify a need for freedom, and when your
hands are relaxed and there is a natural
separation between your fingers, you will
generally act in an independent way. You
are also open to new ideas and opinions,
and can have an outgoing nature. If your
space is very wide, you may have the tendency
to be impulsive, and difficulty being committed
to one activity at a time.
If you gesture a lot and keep your hands apart from
each other when in conversation, this indicates that your instinctive
and intuitive core directs your verbal expression. This may also make
you quick and spontaneous in speech, and passionate about the topic
at hand. People that lecture or speak with their hands somewhat close
to each other indicate a more thoughtful approach in which their words
and statements are weighed and considered before they are spoken. Wide
outstretched hands in conversation signify speaking from the heart whereas
hands kept close together denote a more mental or contemplative approach.
Many
times I am asked by a client if they have "too
many" lines on their hands. Another common scenario is that they
visited a "palmist" who told them that their hands were too
complicated, and therefore could not be read. These types of remarks
by pseudo palmists only instill unnecessary worry in people, and bring
a bad reputation to a very dignified science. A hand that possesses
many lines means that the bearer has a large data bank and many potentials
and talents at their disposal. They are able to comprehend a wide variety
of viewpoints and perspectives. They also have the ability to choose
from several different courses of action. The negative aspect is that
there will be too many "inner voices" or
internal arguments, possibly leading to indecision,
confusion or second guessing.
Another frequently asked question is on the
issue of right handedness vs. left handedness.
In palmistry, the right hand is directed
by the rational and linear left brain, and
the left hand is directed by the intuitive
and holistic right brain. For a right handed
person, the right hand expresses the "outer" self
while the left hand express the "inner" self.
I look to the right hand for information
concerning career, financial, and practical
issues, and to the left hand for dealing
with personal matters, emotional needs and
spiritual directions. Due to the fact that
left handers are directed by the right brain,
my research has convinced me that left handers
are far more in tune with their intuition.
They tend to utilize this intuition greatly
and are comfortable acting on their hunches,
and they don't separate them from their "logical" self.
Lefties, without consciously desiring to
be non-conformists, are not wired to go along
with or follow conventional thought or traditional
modalities. Thus they frequently discover
their own unique ways of doing things, many
times "re-writing the book" and
breaking with convention. There are many
examples of this amongst left handed artist
in particular.
The
path of palmistry is powerful, as it
is the most complete and dependable system
of self-awareness. I encourage you to
take a serious look at hand analysis, as
you will understand quickly why previous
advanced ancient cultures both respected
and revered it. In the words of Dr. William
Benham, the great American palmist , "palmistry
is a study worthy of the best efforts
of the best minds"
